Whoa, Black Friday

My sister tried her damndest to get me up and shopping with her at 4am. Though I love nothing more than a great deal, large crowds send me into fits of panic. Needless to say, I did not join her. But that didn't keep me from doing a little shopping later in the day! Just got home from Banana Republic, where I finally purchased a dress for a wedding I'm going to in January. It's possible that I'm experiencing a bit of buyer's remorse because I'm not sure it's suitable wedding attire.

Here's a pic of it. I think I'm going to belt it and wear black tights and heels, but in the end it's still a white and black dress. I'm reaching out to all my southern belles (and style fashionistas) out there to guide me on this. To wear or return? That's the question.

In my opinion, I think the stripes make it ok. The only definitely "no-no" is a solid white or off-white dress. Again, I'm not a southern belle, nor a style fashionista, but I think it's alright :)

I think it is totally fine. If you feel good go for it! I agree with the only thing off limits now is solid white/off white. Alabama is pretty much as southern as you get. ;) Love you (and the dress)

LOVE this dress. It's definitely okay. BR actually has the best three-quarter sleeve black cardi with one button, but I'm almost thinking you should just wear nude nylons and some fierce shoes and leave it be. So many possibilities...

I love the dress! My Southern girl training (like Rachel's) taught me off-white/white solid is the only off limits choice...and the Southern girl in me hopes you wouldn't wear that after Labor Day anyway (no matter what Stacy and Clinton might say..."winter white" is the only acceptable white between Labor Day and Easter)!

p.s. Becky sounds like my grandmother using the word "nylons"!
