This Girl's Faves

Today, Meghan posted a blog about her five (ahem, six) favorite things right now and challenged me to do the same. There are some things I'm particularly obsessed with right now, mostly including my new planner I just bought at Franklin Covey. I'm feeling lost because I had to order the pages online and they have yet to be shipped. Not that I'm checking the shipping info every two hours or anything.... Anyway, here are five things that I am currently crushing on:

Animal print flats. I have determined that I'm buying a pair as soon as my classroom stops eating my paychecks. (This pair is available at Ann Taylor)

Denim trousers, particularly these from Banana. Not really the best shape for my body type, but, hey, a girl can dream, right?

Monograms in the home. Let's be honest, I always love a good monogram. You can get this wall sticker monogram at threehipchicks.com

Last Friday, we painted most of my classroom with chalkboard paint. I wish I had this idea from Martha Stewart (no, really) before I commenced that project. Super neat!

And because we all know I can't have a list of favorite things without including my beloved Tigers, here's a shirt my sister has promised to buy me for Christmas. It reads "Memphis Basketball 'Our Coach is Hotter Than Your Coach'". Check him out!

Now it's your turn! Dessa? Audra? Favorite away!!

Monograms and Franklin Covey...a girl after my own heart! I upgraded this year...I not only have the planner, but I got a pink laptop bag that I use everyday! I also have a monogram above my bed. The chalkboard paint sounds awesome in your classroom!

OK, first of all that's the first shout out I've EVER received from someone else's blog, so you made my day and I will def put up my faves. Second, I was skeptical about the coach, but I decided to look at the picture anyway... um, YUM. Third, love the monogram on the wall, though I think it is a little weird over the master bed... very cute for a nursery, though (no, I'm not pregnant.) Fourth, your summer pics in the previous post - you are shrinking, my dear!! You look fab :)

oh, and just to clarify so as not insult you and Christine: I think the monogram over the bed struck me as weird because I have a MAN in my bed (where no ruffles, no pink, and no flowers allowed)... not the case for you ladies!!

I can not wait for you to get that shirt. I haven't heard any fun facts about Josh lately - I'll have to do some research. And since I stopped my blog because all I wanted to talk about on there was work & I'm not allowed to blog about work, I'll tell you my current 5 favorites right here...

1) Gloriana/Mat Kearney. I have found this is a great mix for both commuting & listening to at work. There's nothing worse than Fergie blaring from my cubicle & I can't switch to the next song because I've reached my limit on Pandora.
2) Breakfast tacos. I forgot how obsessed this city is with them (after all Mexican food is the appropriate choice every hour of the day). We have breakfast tacos every Wed. at our dept. mtg. & sadly it's one of the main things I look forward to in the week.
3) Dress shorts. Because when it is over 100 degrees every single day & you still have to dress up for work, shorts beat pants every time. I'm considering buying them in every possible color because it's not supposed to cool off anytime soon.
4) Football - not a surprise because I always look forward to a new sports season. But I'm particularly excited about football this year b/c I can just obsessively follow it & not be marching or interning. And most importantly, always watch Gameday/NFL Sunday Countdown. Though free admission to an NFL game every week like last year would be nice...
5) I bought a Hatch Print poster in Nashville from the Opry that says "Ain't Life Grand" and has the Nashville skyline. I ended up having in matted and framed and it matches my bedroom perfectly...it's my favorite thing in my apt. & it makes me sad/happy every time I look at it.
